HEALING BEGINS IN THE SPACE BETWEEN US

Our Reiki-Assisted Psychotherapy trainings teach clinicians how to bring Reiki into the therapy room through The Third Presence — a regulated, energetic field that deepens safety, expands the window of tolerance, and supports healing that talking alone cannot reach. Rooted in Dr. Richard Curtin’s Psychotherapeutic Reiki framework and evolved through a partnership between Jodi Silverman, LCSW and Elizabeth Hides, MSW, RSW, this pathway offers a trauma-informed, soul-attuned approach to therapeutic transformation.

Step into a new dimension of clinical presence — where energy, empathy, and nervous system science come together.

REIKI-ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY

Reiki-Assisted Psychotherapy is an integrative healing approach that weaves together Reiki, nervous system science, and relational psychotherapy to create a therapeutic environment where deeper restoration becomes possible. At the heart of this work is The Third Presence — a co-created energetic field between therapist and client where safety expands, defenses soften, and the system’s natural capacity to heal can come forward.

This is not just Reiki performed as a technique.
It is Reiki embodied as a way of being.

When the therapist enters the session grounded, attuned, and connected to Reiki, something powerful happens:
the room shifts.
The client’s autonomic nervous system receives the signal of safety.
The limbic system relaxes.
Trauma material can surface gently instead of explosively.
Insight arises from the body instead of the mind’s effort.

In The Third Presence:

  • The therapist becomes a regulated energetic anchor.

  • The client feels held without being pushed.

  • The nervous system moves toward coherence.

  • The body leads healing instead of bracing against it.

  • Therapy becomes less about doing and more about becoming.

Rooted in Dr. Richard Curtin’s Psychotherapeutic Reiki framework, this model honors the therapeutic relationship as the primary channel for energetic transmission. The Reiki-infused presence of the clinician helps:

  • widen the window of tolerance,

  • support co-regulation,

  • access implicit memory safely,

  • reduce overwhelm and shutdown,

  • loosen chronic pain patterns,

  • and reconnect clients with their own inner wisdom.

Reiki-Assisted Psychotherapy is ideal for clinicians who want to deepen their therapeutic impact by integrating energy work ethically, skillfully, and in harmony with evidence-informed treatment.

It invites therapists to step into a role that is both clinical and soulful —
a healer of the nervous system, the psyche, and the field between.

We begin with Psychotherapeutic Reiki, the foundational approach to Reiki-Assisted Psychotherapy developed by Dr. Richard Curtin. This model weaves together the wisdom of Reiki, mindfulness, Eastern energy principles, and Western psychology to support deeper therapeutic healing. In his book, Psychotherapeutic Reiki: A Holistic Body-Mind Approach to Psychotherapy, Dr. Curtin outlines four core practices—later expanded to include a fifth, Heartfulness and Self-Compassion—that guide clinicians in using Reiki to enhance and deepen traditional psychotherapy.

From this foundation, our work evolves into a richer integration of energy, somatics, and soul-wisdom that supports clinicians in doing what they are already trained to do, but with greater presence, clarity, and resonance. Many of our students discover they have been intuitively using pieces of this work all along, and that bringing Reiki consciously into the room elevates their clinical skill set to an entirely new level.

Our hybrid Fundamentals course invites clinicians into their own deepening—strengthening energetic awareness, refining presence, and embodying each of Dr. Curtin’s practices with skill and integrity. This development continues through our Clinical training, group and individual consultations, and our ongoing community space, where clinicians grow together in the art and practice of Reiki-Assisted Psychotherapy and The Third Presence.

*(Pending for February 2026 Cohort)

This course offers mental health professionals advanced training in cultivating embodied, Reiki-informed presence to support psychotherapy, with an emphasis on the practitioner’s internal regulation and relational stance. Building upon foundational concepts of Reiki-Assisted Psychotherapy, participants will deepen their understanding of how nervous system regulation, embodied self-awareness, and attuned presence shape the therapeutic field. Through experiential learning, the course focuses on developing somatic awareness, heart-centered attunement, and non-interfering presence that support safety and regulation within therapeutic relationships. Participants will also explore Reiki as a self-regulation and self-care practice for clinicians, supporting emotional resilience, nervous system coherence, and ongoing professional growth.

In this course you will learn how to:

  • Describe how clinician nervous system regulation and embodied presence support therapeutic safety and attunement.

  • Demonstrate somatic self-regulation practices that support sustained presence and reduce clinician-driven dysregulation during therapeutic interactions.

  • Apply body–mind integration strategies to maintain embodied awareness while remaining relationally engaged.

  • Differentiate heart-centered therapeutic presence from emotional fusion, rescuing, or over-identification, and identify personal patterns that may interfere with attuned care.

  • Integrate principles of embodied presence, energetic awareness, and non-interference into a coherent therapeutic stance that supports corrective relational experiences.
